1st December 1982 Establishment of Sabah Medical Centre Sdn Bhd.
1st March 1984 Construction works commenced.
30th October 1984 Ground Breaking Ceremony in Kingfisher Park, Likas.
1st November 1986 Sabah Medical Centre Sdn Bhd was commissioned.
6th November 1986 First patient was admitted and treated in Sabah Medical Centre.
18th June 1987 Official Opening by the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitingan.
12th October 1998 A management buyout took place and Sabah Medical Centre became privately owned.
3rd March 2003 Ministry of Health bought Sabah Medical Centre's land and building for hospital expansion.
1st October 2003 Construction works commenced for the new KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital Building in Damai, Luyang.
1st June 2005 Practical completion of Sabah Medical Centre new building.
7th August 2005 Sabah Medical Centre started operation in the new Building at Lorong Bersatu, Off Jalan Damai, Luyang, 88300 Kota Kinabalu.
1st October 2005 Inauguration of new Sabah Medical Centre by Deputy Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak.
3rd November 2009 Ministry of Health bought Sabah Medical Centre's land and building for the 2nd time for hospital expansion.
1st January 2010 KPJ Healthcare Berhad and Sabah Medical Centre synergised to form SMC Healthcare Sdn. Bhd.
November 2010 The new building of KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital construction works commenced at Damai, Luyang
18 November 2013 Obtained the Certificate of Occupancy by the local authority, DBKK as indication of new building is in a suitable condition for occupancy
December 2013 The completion of KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital Phase 1 building construction
30 December 2013 KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital started operation in the new building at Lot No 2, Off JalanDamai, Luyang, 88300 Kota Kinabalu
24 January 2014 First Angiogram procedure conducted in KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital CATH LAB
