Breast Cancer Awareness Talk by Dr Jaswant Singh

KOTA KINABALU,SABAH, 13 October 2014 – “I have no time”, “I feel healthy”, “Maybe later” – these are some of the common excuses we heard by women aged between 30 and older for not going for a breast check-up. This year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital in collaboration with Kinabalu Pink Ribbon Association is organising a public talk on Breast Cancer with the theme – “Take Action, Fight Breast Cancer”. A public talk on the disease presented by our Consultant Oncologist, Dr Jaswant Singh will be organised to create an awareness both in men and women on Saturday, 18 October 2014. Topics to be discussed include treatment methods of breast cancer, diet & nutrition and support for patients undergoing treatment, as well as showing the proper steps of breast self-exam. We would like to invite members of the public to take part in the event which will be held in KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital from 10:30am onwards. Various activities will also take place during the event such as free health screening test, fundraising program, pinktober maniCURES and many more. Light refreshments will be provided during the event and first 80 participants will also receive attractive gifts.
